Fisherman’s Wharf Manager Delvin Nias (L) presents raffle winner Aaron Sutton with his free dinner voucher

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE day of veteran taxi driver Aaron Sutton just became a little brighter, as the Basseterre resident became the first winner in the Ocean Terrace Inn’s (OTI) monthly raffle draw for taxi and tour operators.

Sutton received his prizes during a short ceremony at OTI this morning (Nov. 5). The taxi driver of 20 years happily accepted the EC$300 cheque and a Fisherman’s Wharf dinner voucher from the restaurant’s Manager, Delvin Nias.

Every taxi driver who brings a guest to one of OTI’s three restaurants – Fisherman’s Wharf, Waterfalls and the Poolside Grill – is eligible for entry into the raffle. According to Nias, the initiative is intended to enhance the hotel’s partnership with these workers, which he described as “very strong, traditionally”.

“The idea for the raffle originated from meetings we had with the Liamigua Taxi Association and the St. Kitts Taxi Association. We wanted to ensure that the relationship between our restaurants and their organisations is mutually beneficial,” he noted.

Sutton explained that Fisherman’s Wharf was his favourite restaurant and whenever his guests were looking for places to eat it was always his first recommendation.

He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the OTI management for the “generous prize”.

“My fiancée and I love Fisherman’s Wharf, so it’s really great to get a prize like this. It has pushed me to spread the word about here even more, because I think everyone should experience the good food and fantastic atmosphere it offers,” Sutton said.
