Doctor’s Office is seeking qualified applicants to fill the FULL-TIME position of administrative assistant/receptionist
Job Description:
Suitably qualified candidate will be responsible for providing administrative/secretarial support to the health professionals of the practice, perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support the overall operation of the practice, and work closely with the clinical team to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

Primary Duties & Responsiblities:
- Answers phone, takes messages and screens calls providing information in accordance with organizational policy.
- Replies to mail by drafting memos, letters, correspondence, etc.
- Scheduling appointments and billing patients.
- Compiling and recording medical charts, reports, and correspondence (hard copy and electronic format).
- Maintains confidential administrative and correspondence files both in hard copy and electronic format.
- Prepares correspondences, takes minutes and transcribes material as requested.
- Miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
Qualified candidates should have the following:
- Completed secondary school education with a minimum of 5 CXC passes including English and Mathematics (OR equivalent high school certification).
- Additional post-secondary education and/or vocational training preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and various modern technology platforms.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience (experience in health-related field preferred), which involved performance of tasks which demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic; and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and speak and write simply and directly.
- Working knowledge of general office equipment.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Meticulous organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times.
- Active listening skills; genuine desire to help people and solve problems with empathy and compassion.
- Excellent team player with a desire to grow with the practice as it expands.
- Post-holder must also be flexible due to dynamic nature of health care and its hours.
- Must be able to work on Saturdays (limited hours)
Remuneration
• Commensurate with one’s qualifications.
