Comment: A factor pertaining to the distribution of laptops is the maintenance of them. If they are kept in school, then consideration has to be given to who will be responsible for fixing them. Will there be technicians hired to service them? or will there be an agreement with a technical firm that will come and pick up the laptops that need fixing?. If the computers are given to the students to take home, then software that secure and track the laptops in the even they are stolen should be installed.

Comment: it would make more sense for the students to take them home..why create a perfect reason for thieves to break the schools as they have done in the past? oh yeah...are teachersgetting free laptops too? I should think they have to be up to par with a technology-savvy student population.
