When the sugar industry closed Douglas and his inept colleagues did nothing with their tractors, seed planting machines, fertilizers and millions of dollars of unused pesticides to carry out large scale planting of peanuts, sweet potatoes, irish potatoes, beans etc. They controlled the land but nothing was done except promise stevia and tax imported food. |
