Comment: No one respect the law anymore crime and violent is out of control in the twin Federation and i for one is tired of all the name calling and lies that is coming forth we want to know how either Government is going to solve the crime , violence and proverty that is ahppening in St Kitts and Nevis we are not safe anymore and no one is taking this thing seriously, when are you all going to take it seriously when it hit closer to home and then you will react.

Comment: I liked this interview mainly because I like Sugar Bowl. He is an interesting person and one of the persons I admire most in St. Kitts - as a man and a professional. It is nice to have gotten to know a little more about him and read about interesting people rather than some of the other persons that have been featured (not necessarily on the site). Comment: V.A.T. is indeed a consumption tax for just about everything we buy with very few exceptions. It is the tax most commonly associated with high cost of living in European countries and can be as much as 20% on top of the retail price (an item costing $5 would now cost $6). In most European countries V.A.T. was introduced with exactly the same 'reasoning' as it is used in St.Kitts & Nevis, but it turned out to be far more expensive than the old system was. In Europe V.A.T. mainly benefits the European Union administration and is used to a large part to skew and control the markets within and outside of Europe. As an example V.A.T. was used to heavily subsidise the European (mainly French) beet sugar production which led directly (And intendedly) to the closure of most of the West Indian sugar production (interestingly sugar production on the French owned islands was never threatened by closure). All this means that V.A.T. increases the power of politicians to control markets - often against the will of the people - and to support government-favoured enterprises. In Europe all this power has led to widespread corruption and nepotism. It is very lucrative indeed to be a Euro-MP and live on the proceeds of V.A.T.! Rather than giving politicians more power we should ensure that true democracy is re-instated. A government should be there to serve the country and the people and not toe other way around!

Comment: The Prime Minister is wrong. When you renounce US citizenship, they take your passport and do not return it. The only document you receive is the loss of nationality certificate from the department of state. In addition, your name will be published in the Federal Register. The register, published quarterly, lists the names of all former citizens that have renounced. It may take up to four years before the name is published.

Comment: Go Back To The Drawing Board, Scrap d VAT script repeal our Old Laws that can be beneficial to us Not The U.S., UK or anywhere eg: Bush Rum\Hammond make it legal for the man who wants that kind of rum at a tax to be fair to those importing rum. Our sugar cane is a blessing and not a curse; make use of the hectares of cane we have to produce the many things that can be produced.
